Foundation & Multimodal Models

Microsoft Launches Seven New MAI Models: Microsoft AI has introduced its new "MAI" family of models, headlined by the MAI-Thinking-1 reasoning model which achieves human preference parity with Claude 3.5 Sonnet. The suite includes specialized models for agentic coding in GitHub Copilot, text-to-image editing, high-accuracy transcription, and multi-language speech generation.

On-Device & Agentic AI

Microsoft Introduces Aion 1.0 On-Device Models: The Aion 1.0 series consists of small language models designed to run locally on Windows and Edge, enhancing privacy and efficiency. The lineup features an Instruct model for API integration and a 14-billion parameter Plan model built for complex reasoning and agentic workflows on local hardware.

Hcompany Releases Holo3.1 Vision-Language Models: French startup Hcompany has launched Holo3.1, a family of models ranging from 0.8B to 35B parameters specifically designed for computer-use agents and automation. These models are based on Qwen 3.5, support native function-calling, and are licensed under Apache 2.0 for local deployment.
